In recent years, the world has heard a great deal about a new global phenomenon; climate change.
While governments and the United Nations have failed to reach a decision, the fact still remains that climate change is a very real threat, right now to the lives of poor people in the developing world.
More than that, despite contributing little to global emissions, it is the most vulnerable people that already suffer the worst human, physical and financial effects of climate change, and who are the least able to recover when disasters occur.
Practical Action works with communities around the world to use technology to help these vulnerable people to adapt to these impacts, working to protect lives and homes, sustain income and provide essential services.
